The International Fur Trade Federation claims that “welfare is at the heart of everything the fur trade does.” Interesting how anyone remotely interested in animal welfare can justify fur trapping…
Trapped animals often twist or chew off their own limbs to escape. Traps are not selective, and ANY animal can get caught.
The animals pictured were all victims of fur trapping. Remarkably, the two cats survived, but they were lucky. Valiant nearly lost his left foot. The fact that JJ survived is a miracle. She was caught in a body crushing Conibear trap.
Born Free USA covered their veterinary bills out of their Trapping Victims Fund. Unfortunately, this happens all to often, and most do not survive. This unnecessary suffering will continue as long as the fur trade thrives.
Say NO to fur!

”There is something instinctive about the moment you choose to ‘take’ a photograph,” he once explained. ”It’s not the result of thought or reflection. The strength of the composition is always born of the instant of the decision. It reminds me of archery. There is the tension of the bow and the free flight of the arrow.”
